The chief golfing centres in the Wye Valley district are the spa-towns on the Ithon and the Irfon-Llandrindod Wells, Llanwrtyd Wells and Llangammarch Wells, the two first of which have each two i8-hole courses. Llandrindod Wells, indeed, is one of the most noted golfing-resorts in the Principality. Builth Wells has a sporting 9-hole course. Above Builth, Rhayader and Llanidloes (near Llangurig) have 9-hole courses.

In the lower part of the valley the most notable links are those of the Herefordshire G.C., at Hereford (18 holes). Excellent 9-hole courses will be found at Hay, Ross, Monmouth, Coleford (Forest of Dean G.C.), and Chepstow.
